What is Cycloastragenol and how does it improve our DNA replication? Cycloastragenol is a very rare plant-based compound, which can help maintain or rebuild parts of the cells, called telomeres, that diminish as people get older and play a major role in the cellular aging process. A telomere is a repeating DNA sequence (for example, TTAGGG) at the end of the body's chromosomes. The telomere can reach a length of 15,000 base pairs. Telomeres function by preventing chromosomes from losing base pair sequences at their ends. They also stop chromosomes from fusing to each other.

Telomere length shortens with age. Progressive shortening of telomeres leads to senescence, apoptosis, or oncogenic transformation of somatic cells, affecting the health and lifespan of an individual. Shorter telomeres have been associated with increased incidence of diseases and protect chromosomal ends from fusion and degradation.
